Equine Mentorship

Program Information

Session Program

Our session program is designed to provide a safe place for children, families, and horses to experience the hope, healing, and encouragement of Christ. Through as many unique ways as there are unique children, the purpose of each session is to support and encourage every individual youth to find Hope, Peace, and Freedom.

By inviting children and families to come as they are, the session leaders at Rising Above Daily Youth Ranch work through a variety of activities or horse skills to encourage everyone toward hope.

Our sessions are for youth in 5th – 12th grade. The mentors tailor each one-on-one or small group session to meet the needs of each child. The session activities offered are working with or riding a horse. Everything that happens within a session is designed to encourage healing, strength, hope, love and trust through a unique and personal experience.

Session Cost

Our Equine Mentorship program is offered entirely free of charge to youth in 5th-12th grade, thanks to the generosity of our donors and the grace of God. Rising Above Daily Youth Ranch is sustained by the unwavering support of those who believe in the hope that our ministry brings for a safe haven.

We are deeply grateful to our incredible team of partners whose donations support the funding for what the Lord is doing in and through Rising Above Daily Youth Ranch.

Thanks to their generosity, families can participate in our programs without incurring the financial burden. We are grateful for the faithful generosity of the many individual and community partners; no family has to pay to participate in our programs.

CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS & RECOMMENDATIONS

For safety, we require that anyone participating with horses must:

  • Wear shoes or boots with closed toes and closed heels. It is recommended that shoes or boots have little or no tread and a heel. We usually have extras on hand, so let us know if your kids do not have this type of footwear.
  • Wear long pants for riding.
  • Shirts need to be long enough to not expose the midriff.
  • Riding helmets are required and provided. All necessary tack is also provided.

It is recommended for all families and participants to:

  • Bring your own water bottles and sunscreen.
  • Wear layered clothing for ever-changing weather.
  • Wear shoes or boots with closed toes

If you have specific questions about our clothing and equipment requirements, please feel free to call our office at (503) 320-0195. If any clothing/equipment issues arise when families arrive for a session, we will do our best to resolve them on site or reschedule for another time.
